Project Kindle - a Great Opportunity for Teachers!
**We received notification from Sara Fatimah, Program Coordinator of Earthwatch, that they are offering an incredible opportunity for teachers, but you need to act fast. The deadline is February 1st! **
Project Kindle’s goal is to offer US high school teachers the training and tools they would need to then bring a group of students in the field on one of our educational hands-on learning programs. Awarded teacher fellows will experience a funded expedition during their 2019 summer vacation with other Project Kindle Fellows. In addition to the standard Earthwatch experience of assisting a team of environmental scientists with important scientific research, we also provide workshops and trainings to prepare the teachers on organizing their students to join an expedition. These resources include topics such as best practices for recruiting students, communication with parents, seeking scholarship funding for students, and overcoming additional obstacles. The ultimate goal is to bring your students on an Earthwatch expedition in the summer of 2021 or 2022.
