Geography for the Middle Grades - a Workshop in Buffalo

The New York Geographic Alliance has made arrangements to present a workshop in the Buffalo Teacher Resource Center at East High School for Middle Level teachers (Grades 4-8) on Tuesday May 19, 2020. The two-hour event will be from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. We promise hands-on activities using geography appropriate for students at this age level. This will include using our GIANT Map of New York to teach about the Erie Canal and the American Revolution, and other related topics. We have lessons that are aimed towards Grade 5 (the Americas), Grade 6 (Eastern Hemisphere), and Grade 7-8 (US History and Geogaphy). Materials will be provided to all participants, i.e. flash drives and paper copies.

We are still working out the details for this workshop. If you have questions about the content and agenda of the workshop, contact Timothy McDonnell, Coordinator of the NYGA. If you have questions about registration, contact Melinda MacPherson of the Buffalo Teacher Resource Center.
