Summer Workshop at Old Fort Niagara

The New York Geographic Alliance is planning on holding a full-day workshop at Old Fort Niagara in Youngstown, NY on July 20, 2020. It will be open to all educators in our state. The details need to be worked out, but it will include geographic lessons about the importance of the Niagara Frontier during colonial times up to the present. (It sits at the mouth of the Niagara River on the shores of Lake Ontario. Canada is just across the river). There will be a tour of the Fort led by docents. Of course, they will be food!

Registration for this event will be open in early 2020. Come back after the New Year for updates!

Three flags fly over Old Fort Niagara, telling the story of its strategic importance. In the background is the French Castle, the oldest standing building on the Great Lakes.
