The Revolutionary Workshop at Old Fort Niagara

The New York Geographic Alliance is planning on holding a full-day workshop at Old Fort Niagara in Youngstown, NY on July 20, 2020. It will be open and FREE to all educators in our state. The details need to be worked out, but it will include geographic lessons about the importance of the Niagara Frontier during colonial times up to the present. (It sits at the mouth of the Niagara River on the shores of Lake Ontario. Canada is just across the river). The fort flies three flags - France, United States, and Great Britain. All three occupied this site during the 18th century. Since the geography is the key to understanding Old Fort Niagara's significance, we will have lessons and activities centered aroound this theme.

There will be a tour of the Fort led by docents. Of course, there will be food!
