Waterways New York and Geo-Inquires Mini Conference

We have closed online registration. However, we do have a couple spots open, so you can still register for Waterways New York by emailing Tim McDonnell, Coordinator of the New York Geographic Alliance at tmcdonnell@monroecc.edu

Please include your name, school, email, and cell phone number.

The New York Geographic Alliance and the Department of Chemistry/Geosciences of Monroe Community College are sponsoring a two-day mini-conference for teachers and informal educators on July 30th and 31st. It will be held at MCC's Brighton Campus in Rochester, NY.

The conference was originally designed to have two strands. Because of construction on campus, we will combine them into one, but participants will have a choice of workshops. They will include watershed modeling, using the GIANT Map of New York to teach geography and American History, literature with geographic themes, water quality testing, and making maps using GIS software, and more! There is a field trip planned for the second day.

We encourage participants to attend both days, but you can join us for one day, if your schedule is limited. Please indicate that when you register (in the comments section). A light continental breakfast and lunch will be served both days. Teachers needing assistance in travel expenses should indicate that on the registration form.
